Our mission

As a registered charity, Hendred Sports Club is run by volunteers with the aim of:

·      Promoting existing and new amateur sports (we are always open to discussions with groups looking to base new sports and leisure  activities at the Sports Club);

·      Encouraging community participation in healthy recreation; and

·     Providing a focal point for the community to come together at a sport- and leisure-based hub.

Current facilities include a cricket pitch, football pitch and two tennis courts, together with a pavillion, changing facilities and a licensed bar.

The Trustees are actively exploring options to improve and develop the facilities at Hendred Sports Club, more details to follow.

Our vision

To secure this community Hub with a once-in-a-generation major investment
  • Creating a new facility fit for the 21st Century that increases participation with access to all
  • a facility that can accommodate mixed gender mixed gender and ages to support future talent
  • Broaden the social and recreational opportunities provided for our community
  • A youth hub for Hendred and surrounding villages
  • A warm modern community space in the best location in the village

About our
Trustees

Our Trustees are members of the village community who volunteer to help run the Sports Club. We are passionate about providing and improving sports facilities in the Hendreds.

The founding trustees were each elected by the Football, Cricket or Tennis Clubs to represent their sport on the board of our registered charity, Hendreds Sports Club.
